CHAP. 97.— An Act To grant certain lands to the city of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the protection of its water supply. March 3, 1915.[[H. R. 19116](/us/bill/63/hr/19116).][[Public, No. 285](/us/63/pl/285).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Public lands.Grand Junction, Colo., granted lands for water supply. That the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized and directed to convey to the city of Grand Junction, in the county of Mesa and State of Colorado, section thirty-four, township twelve south, range ninety-seven west of the sixth principal meridian, in said county and State, to have and to hold said lands for the purpose of the protection of the head gate of the *Provisos*.Payment.water-supply pipe lines and water works system of said city: *Provided*, That the said city of Grand Junction shall, within two years from the passage of this Act, pay for said lands at the rate of $1.25 per acre: *And provided further*, Legal rights unimpaired.That the grant hereby made is, and patent issued thereunder shall be, subject to all legal rights heretofore acquired by any person or persons in or to the above-described premises or any part thereof and now existing under and by virtue of the Minerals reserved.laws of the United States: *Provided*, That there shall be reserved to the United States all oil, coal, and other mineral deposits that may be found in the lands so granted, and all necessary use of the lands for Reversion for non-user.extracting the same: *Provided further*, That the lands hereby authorized to be purchased as hereinbefore set forth, and all portions thereof, shall be held and used by or for the said grantee for the purpose herein specified, and in the event the said lands shall cease to be so used they shall revert to the United States, and this condition shall be ex-pressed in the patent to be issued under the terms of this Act: *And provided further*, Public easement not affected.That the grant herein contained shall not be construed to deprive the public of the right to continue the use of what is known as the Kannah Creek trail across said land.
