CHAP. 243.— An Act To acquire, by purchase, condemnation, or otherwise, additional land for the post office, courthouse, and customhouse in the city of Richmond, Virginia. August 8, 1914.[[H. R. 11822](/us/bill/63/hr/11822).][[Public, No. 169](/us/pl/63/169).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Richmond, Va.Acquiring additional land for public building at, authorized. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed, in his discretion, to acquire, by purchase, condemnation, or otherwise, the remainder of the block, bounded by Main, Tenth, Eleventh, and Bank Streets, in which the post office, courthouse, and customhouse, in the city of Richmond, Commonwealth of Virginia, is located, at a cost*Proviso*.Condition. not exceeding $450,000: *Provided*, That in the judgment of the Secretary of the Treasury the public interest would be better served by acquiring said property than by acquiring another site for additional post-office facilities.
