CHAP. 267.— An Act For the relief of the Delaware Transportation Company, owner of the American steamer Dorothy.July 31, 1912.[[H. R. 22111](/us/bill/62/hr/22111).][[Private, No. 68](/us/pvtl/62/68).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Delaware Transportation Company.May bring suit for injuries to steamer “Dorothy.” That the claim of the Delaware Transportation Company, owner of the American steamer Dorothy, injured in collision with the United States steam collier Sterling in Chesapeake Bay on December third, nineteen hundred and eleven, for and on account of the damage to said steamship Dorothy by reason of said collision, may be submitted to the United States Court in the district in which suit shall be filed by the United States to recover damages and losses by said collision, under and inJurisdiction of court. compliance with the rules of said court sitting as a court of admiralty; and the said court shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine the whole controversy and to enter a judgment or decree for the amount of the damages sustained by reason of said collision, if any shall be found to be due, either for or against the United States, upon the same principles and measure of liability, with costs as in like cases in admiralty between private parties, and with the same rights of appeal.
Sec. 2. That should damages be found to be due the said DelawarePayment of damages. Transportation Company, as owner of said steamship Dorothy, the amount of the final decree therefor shall be paid out of any money in the United States Treasury not otherwise appropriated: *Provided*,*Proviso*.Commencement of suit. That said suit shall be brought and commenced within four months from the date of the passage of this Act. Approved, July 31, 1912.
