CHAP. 413.— An Act Making appropriations for the payment of invalid and other pensions of the United States for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and eleven, and for other purposes. June 25, 1910.[[H. R. 20578](/us/bill/61/hr/20578).][[Public, No. 295](/us/pl/61/295).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Pensions appropriations. That the following sums be, and the same are hereby, appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the payment of pensions for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and eleven, and for other purposes, namely:
Invalid, etc., pensions. For army and navy pensions, as follows: For invalids, widows, minor children, and dependent relatives, army nurses, and all other pensioners who are now borne on the rolls, or who may hereafter be *Provisos*. Navy pensions. placed thereon, under the provisions of any and all Acts of Congress, one hundred and fifty-five million dollars: *Provided*, That the appro-843priation aforesaid for navy pensions shall be paid from the income of the navy pension fund, so far as the same shall be sufficient for Accounts. that purpose: *Provided further*, That the amount expended under each of the above items shall be accounted for separately.
For fees and expenses of examining surgeons, pensions, for services Examining surgeons. Fees. rendered within the fiscal year nineteen hundred and eleven, two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. For salaries of agents for the payment of pensions, at four thousand Agents’ salaries. dollars each, seventy-two thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary. For clerk hire and other services, in the pension agencies, four Clerk hire. hundred thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary: *Proviso*.
Apportionment. Provided, That the amount of clerk hire and other services for each agency shall be apportioned as nearly as practicable in proportion to the number of pensioners paid at each agency, and the salaries paid shall be subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Interior. For rent, New York agency, four thousand five hundred dollars, Rent, New York agency. or so much thereof as may be necessary. For examination and inspection of pension agencies, as provided by Inspection of agencies.

For stationery and other necessary expenses, thirty thousand Stationery, etc. dollars. Sec. 2. That hereafter, in addition to the officers now authorized to Rural delivery carriers may administer oaths. administer oaths in such cases, rural free delivery carriers of the United States are hereby required, empowered, and authorized to administer any and all oaths required to be made by pensioners and their witnesses in the execution of their vouchers, with like effect and force as officers having a seal, and they are authorized to charge and Fee allowed. receive for each voucher not exceeding twenty-five cents, to be paid by the pensioner.
