CHAP. 33.— AN ACT Providing for the appointment of deputy clerks to the United States circuit court of appeals. February 3, 1911. [[H.R. 15655](/us/bill/36/hr/15665).] [[Public, No. 339](/us/bill/36/pl/339).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, , United States courts.That one deputy of the clerk of each circuit court of appeals Circuit courts of appeals.may be appointed by the court on the application of the clerk and may be removed at the pleasure of the courtDeputy clerks authorized..
In case of the death of the clerk his deputy shall, unless removed, continue in office and perform the duties of the clerk in his name until a clerk is appointed and qualified; and for the defaults orVol. 26, p. 826. misfeasances in office of any such deputy, whether in the lifetime of the clerk or after his death, the clerk and his estate and the sureties on his official bond shall be liable, and his executor or administrator shall have such remedyDuties, etc.for such defaults or misfeasances committed after his death as the clerk*Post,* p. 1132.would be entitled to if the same had occurred in his lifetime.
