CHAP. 189.— AN ACT To authorize the establishment of a marine biological station on the Gulf coast of the State of Florida. March 1, 1911.[[H.R. 10430](/us/bill/36/hr/10430).][[Public, No. 438](/us/bill/36/pl/438).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of Commerce and Labor be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered, and directed to establish a marine biological station Marine biological station.on the Gulf of Mexico at a point on the coast of the State of Florida,Established on Florida Gulf coast.to be selected*Post,* p. 1440.by him in said State: *Provided,**Proviso.*That the State of Florida donates and tranfers, free of cost, Donation from State.to the Government of the United States necessary land and water rights upon which may be erected such buildings, wharves, and other structures as may be necessary for the proper equipment of said station, such biological station, buildings, wharves, and other structures not to cost exceeding fifty thousand dollars.
Sec.2.That the professors, instructors, and students Admissions for investigations.of the several land-grant, agricultural, and mechanical colleges of the United States shall be admitted to said station to pursue such investigation in fish culture and biology as may be practicable, without cost to the Government, under such rules and regulations as may be from time to time prescribed by the Secretary of Commerce and Labor.
