CHAP. 121.— AN ACT Authorizing the building of a dam across the Savannah River at Cherokee Shoals. February 18, 1911.[[H.R. 31925](/us/bill/36/hr/31925).][[Public, No. 396](/us/bill/36/pl/396).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That Hugh MacRae, M. F. H. Gouverneur, and E. W. Van C. Lucas, Savannah River.partners trading under the firm name of Hugh MacRae and Company, bankers, of the city of Wilmington, North Carolina, Hugh MacRae and Company may dam, at Cherokee Shoals, Ga.and their assigns, are hereby authorized to construct and maintain a dam across the Savannah River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, extending from a point in Elbert County, Georgia, to a point in Abbeville County, South Carolina, upon or in the vicinity of Cherokee Shoals, and all works incident thereto in the utilization of the power thereby developed, in accordance with the provisions of the Act Vol. 34, p. 386.approved June twenty-third, nineteen hundred and ten, entitled “An Act to amend an Act entitled ‘An Act to regulate the construction of dams across navigable waters,’ approved June twenty-first, nineteen hundred and six.
” Sec.*2.* That the right to alter, amend, Amendment.or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Sec.3.That the Act of Congress approved March second, nineteen hundred and seven, Former law repealed.entitled “An Act permitting the building of a dam across the Savannah River at Cherokee Shoals by the Hugh MacRae Company, Vol. 34, p. 1255.a corporation organized under the laws of South Carolina,” is hereby repealed.
