CHAP. 54.— An Act To change and fix the time for holding the circuit and district courts of the United States for the eastern and middle districts of Tennessee. February 1, 1909.[[H. R. 25405](/us/bill/70/hr/25405).][[Public, No. 198](/us/pl/70/198).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the terms of the circuitTennessee eastern and middle judicial districts.R. S., secs. 572, 658, pp. 101, 122.Terms of court.Greeneville. and district courts of the United States for the northeastern division of the eastern district of Tennessee, held at Greeneville, shall commence on the last Mondays in March and September of each year instead of the first Mondays in June and November, as now provided by law, that the terms of said courts for the middle district of Tennessee, held at Nashville, shall commence on the second Mondays inNashville.
April and October of each year instead of the first Mondays in April and October, as now provided by law; that the terms of said courts for the southern division of the eastern district of Tennessee, held at Chattanooga, shall commence on the fourth Mondays in May andChattanooga. November of each year instead of the first Mondays in Mar and December, as now provided by law; and that the terms of said courts for the. northern division of the eastern district of Tennessee, held at Knoxville, shall commence on the first Mondays in July and JanuaryKnoxville. of each year instead of the first Monday in March and second Monday in September, as now provided by law.
Sec. 2. That no action, suit, proceeding, information, indictment,Pending proceedings, etc., not affected. recognizance, bail bond, or other process in any of said courts shall abate or be rendered invalid by reason of the change of time in the holding of the terms of said courts, but the same shall be deemed to be returnable to, pending, and triable at the terms herein provided for. Sec. 3. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act be,Repeal. and are hereby, repealed.
Sec. 4. That this Act shall take effect from and after February first,Effect. nineteen hundred and nine, the public welfare requiring it. Approved, February 1, 1909.
