CHAP. 224.— An Act For the incorporation of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew. May 30, 1908.[[H. Radtke, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and their associates, who shall be members in good standing of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew at the time when this Act takes effect, and those thereafter associated with them and their successors, be, and they are hereby, incorporated and made a body politic and corporate of the District of Columbia under the name of “The Brotherhood ofName.
Saint Andrew.” And by that name they and their successors mayPowers, etc. have perpetual succession, may use a common seal, and alter the same at pleasure, and elect officers and agents, and may do business and take, receive, hold, and convey real and personal estate necessary for the purposes of the society. Sec. 2. That the sole object of said corporation shall be the spreadObject. of Christ’s Kingdom among men. And, in pursuance of said object,Constitution, etc. it may have a constitution, by-laws, rules, and regulations to carry out tlie same, and shall have power to change and amend its constitution, by-laws, rules, and regulations at pleasure: *Provided*, That such*Proviso.*Restriction. constitution, by-laws, rules, and regulations, or amendments thereof, do not conflict with the laws of the United States or of any State.
Sec. 3. That said corporation shall have the right to hold its meetingsMeetings. and meetings of its council at any place within the United States as may be best suited or most advantageous to the carrying out of the purposes for which this corporation is formed. Sec. 4. That this Act shall take effect and said corporation be establishedEffect. when this Act shall have been accepted by vote of the. Brotherhood of Saint Andrew at any of its annual conventions held within three years from November thirtieth, nineteen hundred and seven, and a copy of such vote attested by the secretary of said convention and 476 filed in the office of the recorder of deeds of the District of ColumbiaElection of officers, etc. shall be sufficient evidence of such acceptance. the officers of the corporation shall be elected and its constitution and by-laws adopted at the annual convention of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew at which this Act is accepted, acting in accordance with the constitution of said brotherhood as it then exists.
Sec. 5. That Congress may at any time amend, alter, or repeal thisAmendment. Act. Approved, May 30, 1908.
