CHAP. 2.— An Act To amend an Act entitled “An Act to provide for the extension of New Hampshire avenue, in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes,” approved February twenty-seventh, nineteen hundred and seven. December 18, 1908.[[S. 2999](/us/bill/70/s/2999).][[Public, No. 179](/us/pl/70/179).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Act entitled “AnDistrict of Columbia.New Hampshire avenue.Condemning lands for extension of.
Act to provide for the extension of New Hampshire avenue, in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes,” approved February twenty-seventh, nineteen hundred and seven, be, and the same is hereby, amended by striking out section three thereof and inserting in lieu thereof the following: ֧“Sec. 3. That there is hereby appropriated out of the revenues ofAppropriation for expenses, etc.Vol. 34, p. 1004, amended. the District of Columbia an amount sufficient to pay the necessary costs and expenses of the condemnation proceedings taken pursuant hereto and for the payment of amounts awarded as damages, to be repaid to the District of Columbia from assessments for benefits and covered into the Treasury to the credit of the revenues of the District of Columbia.
“Sec. 4. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia areChange of extension plans.Vol. 34, p. 1001, amended. hereby directed to change the plans for a permanent system of highways outside the city of Washington so as to abandon the extension of New Hampshire avenue from Buchanan street northward to the District line, as at present laid down on said 582 plans.” Approved, December 18, 1908.
