CHAP. 182.— An Act Authorizing the Secretary of the Navy to accept and care for gifts presented to vessels of the Navy of the United States. May 20, 1908.[[S. 5617.]](/us/bill/70/s/5617)[[Publie, No. 126.]](/us/pl/70/126) *Beit enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of theNavy.Care, etc., of gifts presented to vessels of. Navy is hereby authorized to accept and care for such gifts in the form of silver, colors, books, or other articles of equipment or furniture as, in accordance with custom, maybe presented to vessels of the Navy by States, municipalities, or otherwise.
The necessary expenseExpense. incident to the care, and preservation of gifts of this character which luwe been or may hereafter be accepted shall be defrayed from the appropriation “equipment of vessels.” Approved, May 20, 1908.
