CHAP. 445.— An Act To amend an Act relating to service on foreign corporations, approved June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and two, entitled “An Act to amend an Act entitled ‘An Act to establish a code of law for the District of Columbia.’” February 1, 1907. [[S. 7170](/us/bill/59/s/7170).] [[Public, No. 51](/us/pl/59/51).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, District of Columbia.Code amendments.Vol. 32, p. 644.
That the second paragraph of section fifteen hundred and thirty-seven of the Code of Law tor the District of Columbia be, and the same is hereby, amended so that it shall read as follows: " Service on foreign corporations.“Employee” added.Vol. 32, p. 544, amended.“When a foreign corporation shall transact business in the District without having any place of business or resident agent therein, service upon any officer or agent or employee of such corporation in the District shall be effectual as to suits growing out of contracts entered into or to be performed, in whole or in part, in the District of Columbia or growing out of any tort heretofore or hereafter committed in the said District.
