CHAP. 3539.— An Act To authorize the city of Saint Louis, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Missouri, to construct a bridge across the Mississippi River. June 25, 1906. [[H. R. 20210](/us/bill/59/hr/20210).] [[Public, No. 291](/us/pl/59/291).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Mississippi River. Saint Louis, Mo., may bridge. That the city of Saint Louis, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Missouri, be, and is hereby, authorized to construct, maintain, and operate a railroad,462 wagon, and foot-passenger bridge, and approaches thereto, across the Mississippi River at Saint Louis, Missouri, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled “An Act to regulate the construction of*Ante*, p. 84. bridges over navigable waters,” approved March twenty-third, nineteen hundred and six.
Sec. 2. That for the purpose of carrying into effect the objects ofAcquisition of property for approaches, etc. this Act, the city of Saint Louis may receive, purchase, and also acquire by lawful appropriation and condemnation in the States of Illinois and Missouri, upon making proper compensation, to be ascertained according to the laws of the State within which the same, is located, real and personal property and rights of property, and may make any and every use of the same necessary and proper for the construction, maintenance. and operation of said bridge and approaches consistent with the laws of the United States and of said States respectively.
Sec. 3. That the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is herebyAmendment. expressly reserved. Approved, June 25, 1906.
