CHAP. 3506.— An Act To amend an act approved March third, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, entitled “An act making appropriations to supply deficiencies in the appropriations for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and for prior years, and for other purposes.” June 21, 1906. [[S. 4170](/us/bill/59/s/4170).] [[Public, No. 260](/us/pl/59/260).] *Be it, enacted the Senate and House, of Representatives of the United States of America in Cone/Tess assembled,* That the Act of CongressDistrict of Columbia.Extension of buildings beyond building line.Vol. 26, p. 868, amended. approved March third, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, entitled “An Act making appropriations to supply deficiencies in the appropriations for the fiscal year ending J tine thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and for prior years, and for other purposes,” be, and it is hereby, amended so that the first paragraph under the heading “District of Columbia” in said Act shall read as follows:
" “That the action of the Commissioners of the District of ColumbiaRatification of permits extended throughout District. in heretofore granting permits for the extension of any building or buildings, or any part or parts thereof, in the District of Columbia, beyond the building line and upon the streets and avenues of said city, is hereby ratified, without prejudice, however, to the legal rights of the Government in the event of the destruction by fire or otherwise of any such structure.
And hereafter no such permits shall be grantedApproval of future permits. except upon special application and with the concurrence of all of said Commissioners and, where such extensions are to lie placed upon buildings to be erected on land adjoining United States public reservations, the approval of the Secretary of War.” " Approved, June 21, 1906.
