CHAP. 3301.— An Act To authorize the Charleston Light and Water Company to construct and maintain a dam across Goose Creek in Berkeley County, in the State of South Carolina. June 14, 1906. [[H. R. 8410](/us/bill/59/hr/8410).] [[Public, No. 230](/us/pl/59/230).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Compress assembled,* That the right, power, and Goose Creek, S. C.Charleston Light and Water Company may dam.privilege to construct, erect, and maintain a dam across the said Goose Creek is hereby authorized, granted, and given to the said the Charleston Light and Water Company, its successors and assigns: *Provided*, *Provisos*.Damages.That the said the Charleston Light and Water Company shall be liable for all such damages as may be established in any court of competent jurisdiction by any landowner claiming that his land has been damaged 266Riparian rights protected.by reason of the erection of the said dam: *And provided further*, That nothing herein shall impair any navigation or other rights of any riparian owner, other than the closing of said creek, by the construction, erection, and maintenance of said dam at said location.
Amendment.Right to alter, etc., the dam reserved. Sec. 2. That the right to alter, amend, and repeal this Act, and the right to require the alteration or removal of the structure authorized without any liability on the part of the United States, are hereby expressly reserved.
