CHAP. 2872.— An Act For the relief of William H. Gowdy. March 2, 1907.[[H. R. 4629](/us/bill/34/hr/4629).][[Private, No. 2631](/us/pvt/34/2631).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That Alfred S. Andrew,William H. Gowdy.Release of sureties of. Leander H. Gowdy, G. Morrison Taylor, C. C. Engleman, Jacob C. McCoy, Orlander F. Ralston, L. W. Ralston, J. R. McKinnie, Henry Chatillon, James M. Parker, F.
B. Wortman, Alphonse F. Perrier, and M. A. Dickinson, sureties of William H. Gowdy, late postmaster at Fremont, Moreland. Fremont and Cripple Creek, Colorado, respectively, by bonds to the United States dated August seventh, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ninety-one; December nineteenth, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ninety-one; March tenth, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ninety- two, and July eighth, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ninety-two, be, and they are hereby, released from their liability arising from any deficiency that may have occurred in the accounts of said William H.
Gowdy as postmaster during the term covered by the transcripts of accounts from the Treasury Department and from any judgment which may have been obtained thereon in favor of the United States; and the proper officer of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to direct the cancellation and satisfaction of any and all judgments that may have been rendered against the said William H. Gowdy and the sureties aforesaid upon the said bonds or any of them. Approved, March 2, 1907.
