CHAP. 2080.— An Act Making additional appropriations for the public service on account of earthquake and attending conflagration on the Pacific Coast. May 3, 1906. [[H. R. 18709](/us/bill/34/hr/18709).] [[Public, No. 145](/us/pl/34/145).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Earthquake, etc., on Pacific coast.Additional appropriations.*Post*. pp. 827, 828. That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the following sums for the objects herein specified, namely: navy department.Navy Department.
Mare Island. Cal.Employment of laborers, etc.To enable the Secretary of the Navy to employ such additional laborers and mechanics as may, in his judgment, be necessary for immediate service under the Bureau of Steam Engineering in the navy-yard at Mare Island, California, to remain available until June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and six, the sum of one hundred thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary. postal service.Postal service, Cal. Emergencies in.To enable the Postmaster-General, in his discretion, to meet emergencies in the postal service in the State, of California occasioned by earthquake and fire, to be paid out of the revenues of the postal service and to remain available until June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and six, Statement of expenditures.the sum of seventy thousand dollars.
A detailed statement of the expenditures of this sum shall be submitted to Congress at its next regular session. Approved, May 3, 1906.
