CHAP. 295.— AN ACT To relieve the Italian-Swiss Agricultural Colony from the internal-revenue tax on certain spirits destroyed by fire. February 2, 1905.[[H. R. 11370](/us/bill/58/hr/11370).][[Private, No. 257](/us/pvtl/58/257).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House ofRepresentatives of the Un/ited States of America in Congress assembled*, Italian-Swiss Agricultural Colony, California.Relief of. That the Italian-Swiss Agricultural Colony, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, be relieved from the payment of an assessment, or any part or portion thereof, made against the aforesaid cor1777poration by the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, amounting to the sum of nine hundred and fifty-six dollars and eighty-nine cents, said assessment having been placed against said corporation on account of the accidental destruction by fire of ten barrels of spirits, commonly called grape brandy, while being transported by rail from fruit distillery numbered one hundred and eight, located at Asti, California, to winery numbered one hundred and nine, located near Madera, California, and before said spirits could be used in said winery for fortifying pure sweet wine.
The Commissioner of Internal Revenue is hereby authorized and directed to cancel the said assessment without the payment of the aforesaid tax or any part or portion thereof. Sec. 2. That this Act shall take effect immediately after its passageEffect. and approval. Approved, February 2, 1905.
