CHAP. 1800.— An Act To create a new division of the southern judicial district of Iowa, and to provide for terms of court at Davenport, Iowa, and for a clerk for said court, and for other purposes. April 28, 1904.[[H. R. 14673](/us/bill/33/hr/14673).][[Public, No. 232](/us/pl/33/232).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, United States courts.Iowa southern judicial district.Davenport division created.[R.
S., sec. 537, p. 90, amended](/us/rs/s537/p90).Vol. 22, p. 172. That, the counties of Scott, Muscatine. Washington, and Keokuk shall constitute a division of the southern judicial district of Iowa, to be known as the Davenport division of said court. 547 Sec. 2. That terms of the circuit and district courts of the UnitedTerms at Davenport; States for the said southern district of Iowa shall be held twice in each year at the city of Davenport, Iowa, and that until otherwise provided by law the judges of said courts shall fix the times at which said courts shall be held at Davenport, of which they shall make publication and give due notice.
Sec. 3. That all civil process issued against persons resident in theReturn of process, etc. said counties of Scott. Muscatine, Washington, and Keokuk, and cognizable before the United States courts, shall be made returnable to the courts, respectively, to be held at the city of Davenport, Iowa, and all prosecutions for offenses committed in any of said counties shall be tried in the appropriate United States courts at the city of Davenport, Iowa: *Provided,* That no process issued or prosecution commenced or*Proviso*.Pending causes. suit instituted before the passage of this Act shall be in any way affected by the provisions hereof.
Sec. 4. That the clerks of the circuit and district courts of said districtClerks. shall maintain an office, in charge of themselves or a deputy, at the said city of Davenport, Iowa, for the transaction of the business of said division. Suitable quarters for the maintenance of said clerk's office and forQuarters. holding said court shall be furnished without expense to the United States. Approved, April 28, 1904.
