CHAP. 1401.— An Act For the relief of the estate of Cyrus D. Hottenstein, deceased. April 20, 1904.[[H. R. 8505](/us/bill/58/hr/8505).][[Private, No. 1277](/us/pvtl/58/1277).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of theCyrus D. Hottenstein.Payment to heirs of. Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to the heirs of Cyrus D. Hottenstein, deceased, the sum of three hundred dollars, with interest due thereon, in full payment for the following described United States coupon bonds, of the four-twenty funded loan of nineteen hundred and seven, which were accidentally burned and destroyed by him:
Three United States bonds of the denomination of one hundred dollars each, being numbered eighty thousand five hundred and forty-three, one hundred and sixty-one thousand two hundred and twenty, and two hundred and four thousand four hundred and ninety-six: *Provided*, That before the redemption of said bonds the heirs*Proviso*.Bond. of the said Cyrus D. Hottenstein shall execute or cause to be executed, and deposit with the Secretary of the Treasury, a bond of indemnity in double the face value of the bonds and the interest coupons for interest due between January first, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, and the date of the maturity of the bonds, with good and sufficient security, subject to the approval of said Secretary, to secure the United States against loss or damage in consequence of the redemption of said bonds.
