CHAP. 1317.— An Act For the relief of Lieutenant D. W. Blamer, United States Navy. March 2, 1905.[[H. R. 18527](/us/bill/58/hr/18527).][[Private, No. 1183](/us/pvtl/58/1183).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of theD. W. Blamer.Duplicate bonds issued to. Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue to Lieutenant D. W. Blamer, United States Navy, duplicates in lieu of United States three per centum coupon bonds, loan of nineteen hundred and eight to nineteen hundred and eighteen, numbered seventeen thousand three hundred and seven, seventeen thousand three hundred and eight, and seventeen thousand three hundred and nine, for twenty dollars each, and twenty-three thousand two hundred and fifty-six and twenty-three thousand two hundred and fifty-seven, for one hundred dollars each, with interest coupons attached dated November first, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and subsequently, said bonds and coupons having been lost and destroyed through the wreck of the United States Steamer Charleston on November second, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine: *Provided,* That the said D.
W. Blamer shall*Proviso.*Penal bond. first file in the Treasury a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of said bonds and the interest that would accrue thereon until the same should become due and payable, with good and sufficient sureties, to be approved by the Secretary of the Treasury, with condition to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any claim on account of the said bonds and interest coupons.
