CHAP. 985.— An Act For the relief of Austin A. Yates. March 2, 1903.[[Private, No. 846](/us/pvtl/57/846).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the proper accounting Austin A, Yates.Credit in account.officers of the Treasury he, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to settle the accounts of Austin A. Yates, fate captain, Fourteenth Veteran Reserve Corps, and to give him credit for the sum of thirteen thousand five hundred and thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents, charged to him on the books of the Second Auditor’s Office, said sum having been stolen from the safe of his office at Syracuse, New York, on the night of March twenty-fifth, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, while he was acting provost-marshal of the twenty-third district of New York: *Provided*, That it shall be made to appear to the satisfaction *Proviso*.Proof required.of said accounting officers that Captain Yates was not responsible for the loss of said moneys.
