CHAP. 980.— An Act To authorize the Commissioners of the District of Columbia to refund certain license taxes. June 2, 1902.[[Public, No. 135](/us/pl/32/135).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, District of Columbia.Refund of license taxes erroneously col lected. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to refund to wholesale and retail liquor dealers who were engaged in business in said District on March third, eighteen hundred and ninety-three, moneys erroneously collected as license taxes for the license year ending October thirty-first, eighteen hundred and ninety- three.
Sec. 2. Payments.That for the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions of the preceding section the Commissioners of the District of Columbia are hereby authorized to adjust the amounts found to be equitably due by the accounting officers of the District, and pay the same out of the fund provided for the erroneous payment of taxes. Approved, June 2, 1902.
