CHAP. 675.— An Act To grant certain lands to the city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. May 1, 1902. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Public lands. Land granted to Colorado Springs, Colo., for water supply. That the fol I owing-described tracts of land, situate in the county of El Paso and State of Colorado, described as follows: Ail of south half of south half of section twenty-eight; all of south half of section twenty-nine not included in the grant made to the city of Colorado Springs under the Act of CongressVol. 29, p. 97. approved April twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-six; all of northeast quarter of section thirty-one not included in the grant to the city of Colorado Springs under the Act of Congress approved April twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-six; all of south-east quarter of section thirty-one; all of northwest quarter of section thirty-two not included in the grant made to the city of Colorado Springs under the Act of Congress approved April twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-six: all of northeast, quarter, all of south-west quarter, and all of north half of southeast quarter of section thirty-two; all of north half, all of north half of southwest quarter, all of southwest quarter of southwest quarter, all of north half of south-east quarter, and all of southeast quarter of southeast quarter of section thirty-three.
All of the above-described land is in township fourteen south, range sixty-eight west, of sixth principal meridian. Also, all of east half of northeast quarter and all of north half of south half of section four, township fifteen south, range sixty-eight west, of sixth principal meridian: allof north half of southeast quarter, all of west half of northeast quarter, and all of northwest quarter of section five, township fifteen south, range sixty-eight west, containing two thousand one hundred and eighty-one and live-tenths acres, more or less, be. and the same are hereby, granted and conveyed to the city of Colorado Springs, in the county of El Paso and State of Colorado,Price per acre. upon the payment of one dollar and twenty-five cents per acre by said city to the United States, to have and to hold said lands to its use and behoof forever for purposes of water storage and supply of its waterworks; and for said purposes said city shall forever have the right, in its discretion, to control and use any and all parts of the premises herein conveyed, and in the construction of reservoirs, laying such pipes and mains, and in making such improvements as may be necessary to utilize the water contained in any natural or constructed reservoirs upon said premises: *Provided, howerer,* That the grant hereby*Proviso*.Existing legal rights. made is, and the patent issued hereunder shall be, subject to all legal rights heretofore acquired by any person or persons in or to the above-described premises or any part thereof and now existing under and by virtue of the laws of the I. nited States.
