CHAP. 489.— An Act For the relief of Elisha A. Goodwin, executor of the estate of Alexander W. Goodwin. February 5, 1903.[[Private, No. 427](/us/pvtl/57/427).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Elisha A. Goodwin.Duplicates of certain registered bonds to be issued to. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue duplicates to Elisha A. Goodwin, executor of the estate of Alexander W.
Goodwin, late of Vanceboro, Maine,, in lieu of United States four per centum registered bonds, funded loan of nineteen hundred and Vol. 16. p. 272.Vol. 16. p 399.seven, Acts of Congress approved July fourteenth, eighteen hundred and seventy, and January twentieth, eighteen hundred and seventy- one, numbered seventy-one thousand and eleven to seventy-one thou-sand and eighteen, inclusive, of the denomination of one hundred dollars each, amounting to eight hundred dollars, said bonds alleged to have been lost or stolen.
Also to issue to the said Elisha A. Good-win duplicates in lieu of United States four per centum coupon bonds of the funded loan of nineteen hundred and seven, Acts of Congress approved July fourteenth, eighteen hundred and seventy, and January twentieth, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, numbered one hundred and forty-eight thousand three hundred and fifty-six and one hundred and forty-eight thousand three hundred and fifty-seven of the denomination of one thousand dollars each; fifty-six thousand nine hundred and sixty-one to fifty-six thousand nine hundred and sixty- six, inclusive, of the denomination of five hundred dollars each; sixty- six thousand six hundred and eighty-one and sixty-six thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine, one hundred and sixty-eight thousand seven hundred and sixty-eight to one hundred and sixty-eight thousand seven hundred and eighty-seven, inclusive, of the denomination of one hundred dollars, amounting to seven thousand two hundred dollars: *Proviso.*Indemnity bondb. *Provided*, That the said Elisha A.
Goodwin shall first file in the Treasury a bond in a penal sum equal to the amount of the missing registered bonds and the interest that would accrue thereon until the same shall become due or payable; and a bond in a penal sum equal to double the amount of the missing coupon bonds and the interest that would accrue thereon until the same shall become due. or payable, with good and sufficient sureties to be approved by the Secretary of the Treasury, with conditions to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any claim on account of the said lost or stolen bonds.
