CHAP. 1382.— An Act Requiring the Anacostia and Potomac River Railroad Company to extend its Eleventh street line, and for other purposes. July 1, 1902. [[Public, No. 248](/us/pl/57/248).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Anacostia andDistrict of Columbia street railways.Anacostia and Potomac River Railroad Company may extend Eleventh street line. Potomac River Railroad Company, of the District, of Columbia, be, and it hereby is authorized and required to construct the necessary tracks and to make the necessary connections for the purpose of operating its cars by the underground electric system, such as is now in use on its Eleventh street line, over and along the following route, namely:
Beginning at the northern terminus of its Eleventh street line at Eleventh street and Florida avenue north, by double track, along Eleventh street to Lydecker avenue: *Provided,* That until the*Provisos.*Switching ears. line of railroad on Eleventh street is further extended, cars may be switched on Eleventh street between Whitney and Lydecker avenues: *And provided further,* That until provision is made for a furtherMetropolitan Railroad Company, extension of the line of the Metropolitan Railroad Company on Old Sixteenth street cars may be switched on Old Sixteenth street between Grant and Park streets.
Sec. 2. That the extension herein authorized shall be completed andTime of construction the cars operated thereon within two years from the date of the issuance of a permit by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia. Sec. 3. That the extension herein provided for shall be constructedPlans. in accordance with plans satisfactory to the Commissioners of the District of Columbia and approved by them. Sec. 4. That the said Anacostia and Potomac River Railroad CompanyRights, etc. shall have over and respecting the route herein provided for the same rights, powers, and privileges it has, or hereafter may have, by law over and respecting its other routes, and be subject in respect thereto to all the other provisions of its charter and of law.
Sec. 5. That the time within which the Washington and GettysburgWashington and Gettysburg Railway Company.Time extended for constructing line within the District.Vol. 30, p. 1376. Railway Company shall construct its line within the District of Columbia is extended two years from March first, nineteen hundred and three. Sec. 6. That Congress reserves the right to amend, alter, or repealAmendment. this Act. Approved, July 1, 1902.
