CHAP. 827.— An Act For the relief of the widows and children of William Ryan and John S. Taylor, deceased. March 2, 1901. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,William Ryan and John S. Taylor.Claim of widows, etc., referred to Court of Claims. That the claims of the widows and children of William Ryan and John S. Taylor, deceased, for compensation for the death of said decedents, which occurred on or about the first day of September, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, while they were employed by the United States in connection with the construction of a battery at Finns Point, New Jersey, be, and the same are hereby, referred to the Court of Claims, with jurisdiction to ascertain and determine whether the death of said decedents was caused by the act, neglect, or default of the United Suites or its agents, and without any contributory negligence upon the part of said deceased, and if it shall so appear the said court shall render judgment against the United States in favor of said widows and children for any damages, not exceeding the sum of five thousand dollars, for the widow and children of each, that may have been sustained through the death of said *Proviso.*Limit of time for filing suit.decedents: *Provided*, That no suit shall be brought under the provisions of this Act after six months from the passage hereof.
