CHAP. 819.— An Act For the relief of Nathan S. Jarvis. March 2, 1901. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Nathan S. Jarvis.May be placed on retired list of Army. That the President of the United States be, and he hereby is. authorized to nominate and, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to appoint Nathan S. Jarvis, late captain and assistant surgeon, United States Army, a captain and assistant surgeon, and to place him on the retired list of the Army with that rank and pay, the retired list being thereby —examination, etc.increased in number to that extent: *Provided*, That before his appointment he be examined by a Board of officers appointed by the Secretary of War, before whom he shall appear for examination, the result of which shall show that he would be eligible to retirement were he in active service as Assistant Surgeon; and all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith are suspended for this purpose only.
