CHAP. 470.— An Act For the relief of W. H. L. Pepperell, of Concordia, Kansas. May 14, 1900. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, W. H. L. Pepperell. Credit in accounts of, etc. That the Postmaster-General be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the accounts of W. H. L. Pepperell, late postmaster at Concordia, State of Kansas, to be credited with the sum of one thousand five hundred and forty-five dollars, and that he cause said credit to be certified to the Auditor of the Treasury for the Post-Office Department, being on account of the loss of one thousand three hundred and forty-five dollars in postage stamps and two hundred dollars in postal funds stolen from said post-office on August twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, it appearing that said loss was without fault or negligence on the part of said late postmaster; and the said sum of one thousand live hundred and forty-five dollars is hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay said claim.
