CHAP. 459.— An Act Granting an increase of pension to Bell Fries. May 12, 1900. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Bell Fries. Pension increased. That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Bell Fries, widow of Edmond Fries, late of Company B, Ninth Regiment New York Volunteer Heavy Artillery, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu *Proviso*. —condition. of that she is now receiving: *Provided, however*, That in the event of the death of the helpless child of the soldier, Libbie, the pension of the said Bell Fries shall continue only at the rate of twelve dollars per month from and after the date of death of such child.
