March 23, 1898. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United John McCarthy.Removal of charge of desertion, etc.States of America in Congress assembled*, That the charge of desertion now appearing against John McCarthy, formerly of the United States Navy, is hereby removed, and the said John McCarthy be, and he is hereby, relieved from the charge of desertion, and that he be, and he is hereby, restored to all the rights to which he would have been entitled bad no charge of desertion been entered against him and had no record *Proviso*.No pay, etc.showing desertion been made: *Provided*, That no pay or allowances shall become due or payable by reason of the passage of this Act.
