Williams, first lieutenant, Third Artillery, United States Army, to accept the decoration of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor from the President of the French Republic.March 3, 1899. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That John R. Williams, first John R. Williams. May accept decoration from France. lieutenant, Third Artillery, United States Army, military attaché to the legation of the United States at Berne, Switzerland, be, and he is hereby, authorized to accept from the President of the French Republic the decoration of the Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, awarded to him at the conclusion of the grand maneuvers in northern France last fall.
