S. Stearns Lumber Company. Payment to. United States be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to the 1558FIFTY-FIFTH CONGRESS. Sess. III. Chs. 498–502. 1899. J. S. Stearns Lumber Company, of Odanah, Ashland County, Wisconsin, the sum of three hundred and seventy-nine dollars and three cents, the same being the amount of a certain judgment recovered by the United States against the said J. S. Stearns Lumber Company, it being for the value of timber cut from certain lands in section thirty-five, township forty-six north, of range four west, Ashland County, Wisconsin, claimed by the United States, and which lands were subsequently determined by the Supreme Court, in the case of the Wisconsin Central Railroad Company against Forsythe, to be owned by the said railroad company, and from which the said timber was removed.
