CHAP. 400.— An Act To construct a public building at Oskaloosa, Iowa, and for other purposes. March 2, 1899. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Oskaloosa, Iowa.Public building authorized. That the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to acquire, by purchase or otherwise, a site and to cause to be erected thereon a substantial and suitable building, for use of the post-office and other Government purposes, Limit of cost.at Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The site and building, when complete, shall not cost to exceed fifty thousand dollars. The site shall not be purchased until estimates for the erection of the building, suitable and sufficient for the public purpose, costing not to exceed the residue of the sum herein limited after the purchase and payment for the site, shall have first been approved by said Secretary; and the cost of building and site is limited to said sum of fifty thousand dollars. Approved, March 2, 1899.
