April 11, 1898. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Thomas Lane.Pension.States of America in Congrats assembled*, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and be is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of an Act approved Vol. 27, p. 281.July twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and ninety two, entitled “An Act granting pensions to the survivors of the Indian wars of eighteen hundred and thirty-two to eighteen hundred and forty-two, inclusive, known as the Black Hawk war, Creek war, Cherokee disturbances, and the Seminole war,” except as to the provision and limitation in said Act as to the time of service, the name of Thomas Lane, late private in Captain William Moore’s company Illinois Militia, Sac and Fox Indian war, and that he be allowed a pension from the date of the approval of this Act at the rate of eight dollars per month.
