CHAP. 15.— An Act To provide for the appointment of an additional district judge in and for the northern judicial district of the State of Texas. February 9, 1898. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Additional district judge, northern district of Texas. That there shall be in the northern judicial district of the State of Texas an additional district judge, who shall be appointed by the President, by and with the advice of the Senate, and shall possess the same qualifications and have the same power and jurisdiction now prescribed by law in respect to the present district judge therein.
Sec. 2. No vacancy in office of existing district judge to be filled. That no vacancy in the office of the existing district judge of said northern judicial district of Texas shall be filled by appointment, and in case of such vacancy there shall be thereafter one district judge only for said district.
