CHAP. 123.— An Act For adjusting clothing account for deceased soldiers, in certain cases. February 8, 1899. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Army.Deductions from pay of volunteer dying six months after enrollment only where clothing actually overdrawn. That in the adjustment of the accounts of volunteers enrolled on account of the existing war with Spain, who have died, or may hereafter die within six months from the date of their enrollment, the accounting officers of the Treasury shall make no stoppage on account of clothing overdrawn against the pay or FIFTY-FIFTH CONGRESS.

Chs. 123, 127, 128. 1899. 823 allowances otherwise found due the widow, heirs, or legal representative of the soldier, unless the amount of clothing actually drawn by him is in excess of the clothing allowance for a soldier of his grade for the first six months of service.
