Chap. XL.— An Act to regulate the fees of public notaries in the county of Washington, in the District of Columbia. April 4, 1818. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled*, That the public notaries The public notaries of Washington county to receive the same fees as public notaries in Maryland.appointed for, and residing in, the county of Washington, in the District of Columbia, shall be, and they are hereby, severally authorized to demand and receive, for any services required of them in that capacity, such fees as are now allowed to the public notaries of the state of Maryland, by the laws of that state, for similar services.
