Chap. LXXXI.— An Act to provide a library room, and for transporting the library lately purchased. March 3, 1815. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, * That the President of the 226 THIRTEENTH CONGRESS. Sess. III. Ch . 82, 85, 86. 1815. The President to cause a library room to be prepared, and the library of Thomas Jefferson to be placed in it.United States be, and he is hereby authorized to cause a proper apartment to be immediately selected and prepared for a library room, and to cause the library lately purchased from Thomas Jefferson, to be placed therein during the ensuing recess of Congress.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That the accounting officers of the treasury be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to settle the Act of Jan. 30, 1815, ch. 27.account of the expenditures incurred under this act; and that the amount so settled shall be paid out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
