Chap. IX.— An Act continuing in force certain acts, laying duties on bank notes, refined sugars, and for other purposes.Feb. 1, 1816. [Obsolete.] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Duties on stamps of bank notes, and on refined sugars, continued. Act of 1813, ch. 53. Act of 1814, ch. 11. States of America, in Congress assembled,* That the act entitled, “An act laying duties on notes of banks, bankers, and certain companies; on notes, bonds, and obligations, discounted by banks, bankers, and certain companies; and on bills of exchange of certain descriptions,” passed the second day of August, one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, and the act supplementary to said act, passed the tenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, and the act, entitled “An act laying duties on sugar refined within the United States,” passed the Act of 1813, ch. 21. twenty-fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, shall be, and the same are hereby continued in force; any thing in the said acts in any wise to the contrary notwithstanding.
