CHAP. 61.— An Act To authorize the Auditor for the War Department to audit certain quartermaster’s vouchers alleged to belong to John Finn, of Saint Louis, Missouri. March 19, 1896. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, John Finn.May sign certain vouchers.*Ante*, p. 285.That the Auditor for the War Department be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to permit John Finn, of Saint Louis, Missouri, claimant of three hundred anti seventy-one quartermaster’s vouchers, aggregating six thousand three hundred and sixty-three dollars and ninety-five cents, more or less, to sign the receipts upon the said vouchers, which said vouchers it is alleged were presented by the said Finn to the Quartermaster-General, and are now alleged to be in the office of the Auditor*Provisos.*Condition. for the War Department; and the receipts so signed shall be accepted as a sufficient compliance with the laws and rules regulating such cases; *Provided,* That it shall be found, upon examination, that the said vouchers were duly issued by the legally constituted authorities and came rightfully anti for value into the hands of said Finn and that they have not heretofore been audited and paid: *Provided further,* Payment.That all original payees 710FIFTY-FOURTH CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Chs. 61, 68–70. 1896.who do not present claims for payment on said vouchers within thirty days from the date of approval of this Act shall be forever barred from presenting such claim, and said John Finn shall after said thirty days be entitled to receive the amounts found to be due thereon upon the conditions aforesaid. Approved, March 19, 1896.
