CHAP. 44.— An Act Granting an increase of pension to Helen M. Mallery. January 16, 1897. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the Secretary of theHelen M. Mallery.Pension increased. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to increase the pension of Helen M. Mallery, widow of Garrick Mallery, late captain and brevet lieutenant colonel United States Army and lieutenant-colonel Thirteenth Pennsylvania Cavalry and brevet colonel United States Volunteers, to fifty dollars per month, and pay her a pension hereafter at that rate.

[Note by the Department of State.—The foregoing act having been presented to the President of the United States for his approval, 768 FIFTY-FOURTH CONGRESS. Sess. II. Chs. 44–48. 1897. and not having been returned by him to the house of Congress in which it originated within the time prescribed by the Constitution of the United States, has become a law without his approval.]
