CHAP. 42.— An Act Granting to the Columbia and Red Mountain Railway Company a right of way through the Colville Indian Reservation, in the State of Washington, and for other purposes.March 6, 1896. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,*Columbia and Red Mountain Railway Company grunted right of way Colville Reservation, Wash. That there be, and is hereby, granted to the Columbia and Red Mountain Railway Company, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Washington, a right of way to the extent of one hundred feet on each side of the center line of said railway across the Colville Indian Reservation, in the State of Washington,Location, etc. commencing at a point at or near the Little Dalles on the Columbia River, in Stevens County, in said State, and running thence in a northerly direction by the most feasible route to the international boundary line between the United States and British Columbia, togetherFIFTY-FOURTH CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Chs. 42, 46. 1896.45 with all the rights granted to railroads by the Act of Congress entitledVol. 18, p. 482. “An Act granting to railroads a right of way through the public lands of the United States,” approved March third, eighteen hundred and seventy-five; and for the purposes of this grant and the construction of said railway all the provisions of said Act are hereby declared to be applicable thereto to the same extent as though the lands in said reservation were open to settlement and sale.
