CHAP. 341.— An Act For the relief of Hannah Newell Barrett. June 6, 1896. Preamble.Whereas Hannah Newell Barrett, a resident of the city of Boston, State of Massachusetts, is the oldest surviving daughter of Noah Harrod, late a soldier of the Revolution, she having been born at Lunnenburg, State of Massachusetts, the thirteenth day of May, eighteen hundred, being therefore in her ninety-sixth year; and Whereas from injuries received she is practically in a helpless condition physically, and is dependent entirely upon the charity of friends:
Therefore *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, * Hannah Newell Barrett.Pension. That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place upon the pension roll the name of Hannah Newell Barrett, eldest daughter of Noah Harrod, late a soldier in Colonel Shephard’s regiment and Captain Webb’s company of Massachusetts troops in the war of the Revolution, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month from and after the passage of this Act.
