CHAP. 341.— An Act To remove doubts as to the power of the supreme court of the District of Columbia to provide for a vacancy in the office of attorney of the United States for the District of Columbia. February 27, 1897. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representative of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, District of Columbia.Supreme court may temporarily appoint attorney in case of vacancy. That in case of a vacancy in the office of attorney of the United States for the District of Columbia, the supreme court of said District may will the same, and the person appointed by said court shall serve until an appointment is made by the President, and the appointee is duly qualified, and no longer.
