CHAP. 280.— An Act For the relief of Henry F. Thornton. February 22, 1897. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Henry F. Thornton.Pension increased. That the Secretary of the Interior be, and is hereby, directed to issue to Henry F. Thornton, late of First Virginia Volunteers in Mexican war, a certificate of pension at the rate of sixteen dollars per month in lieu of certificate numbered ninety-six hundred and twenty-three now held by said Thornton as a survivor of said war.
Received by the President, February 10, 1897. [Note by the Department of State.—The foregoing act having been presented to the President of the United States tor his approval, and not having been returned by him to the house of Congress in which it originated within the time prescribed by the Constitution of the United States, has become a law without his approval.]
