CHAP. 205.— An Act To amend section forty-eight hundred and twenty-nine of the United States Revised Statutes concerning surgeons, assistant surgeons, and other medical officers of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. February 9, 1897. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That section forty-eight hundred Volunteer Soldiers’ Home. R. S., sec. 4829, p. 937, amended. Appointment of medical officers.and twenty-nine of the Revised Statutes of the United States be amended by the addition of the following words:
“*Provided,* That surgeons, assistant surgeons, and other medical officers of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, and the several branches thereof, may be appointed from others than those who have been disabled in the military service of the United States.” Approved, February 9, 1897.
