CHAP. 308.— An Act To authorize the Commissioners of the District of Columbia to appoint ii deputy coroner, and for other purposes.August 23, 1894. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,District of Columbia. Deputy coroner authorized. Duties. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia be, and they are hereby, authorized to appoint a deputy coroner in and for the District of Columbia. That it shall be the duty of the deputy coroner to assist the coroner in the performance of his duties and to perform the duties pertaining to the office of coroner in the absence or disability of the coroner.
The deputy coroner shall, while acting as such, receive compensation at a rate not exceeding five dollars per diem, to be paid As other expenses of the Bond.government of the District of Columbia are paid, and shall give bond, to be approved by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia, in the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars, conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties.
