CHAP. 175.— An Act To amend section nine of an Act entitled “An Act to authorize the Kansas City, Pittsburg and Gulf Railroad Company to construct and operate a railroad, telegraph, and telephone line through the Indian Territory, and for other purposes.”March 2, 1895. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Indian Territory.Right of way to Kansas City, Pittsburg and Gulf Railroad Company, amended.Vol. 27. p. 490.
That section nine of tin Act approved February twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and ninety-three, entitled “An Act to authorize the Kansas City, Pittsburg and Gulf Railroad Company to construct and operate a railroad, telegraph, and telephone line through the Indian Territory, and for other purposes,” be, and the same is hereby, amended by striking out the words “within three, years after the passage of this Act,” occurring in the second and third lines of said section, and by substituting in lien thereof the following words, “prior to the first day of March, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven;” and by striking out the words “within one year thereafter,” occurring in the third line of said section, and by substituting in lieu thereof the following words, to wit, “prior to the first day of March, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine;” so that said section nine, when so amended, shall read as follows:
" “Sec. 9. That said railroad company shall build at least fifty milesTime for constructing extended. of its railroad in said Territory prior to the first day of March, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, and complete main line of the same prior to the first day of March, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, or the rights herein granted shall he forfeited as to that portion not built. That said railroad company shall construct and maintain continually all fence, road, and highway crossings, and necessary bridges over said railroad whenever said roads and highways do now or may hereafter cross said railroad's right of way or may be by the proper authorities laid out across the same.
