That section eighteen of an act entitled “An act to provide for taking the Eleventh and subsequent censuses,” approved March first, eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, be amended by adding to the last line of said section eighteen, after the words “and actual necessary traveling Per diem allowance.expenses.” the words “and a per diem allowance in lieu of subsistence of three dollars per day.
